Escofet Flor

Escofet Flor

FLOR is a cast stone bench with two formats, installed using a subtle play of similarity and contradiction. Its radical biomorphic design permits paired or individual usage to preserve the user’s intimacy. The FLOR bench design employs the concepts of equality and diversity, part of the research that has inspired the architectural work of architects Mansilla & Tuñón.

FLOR was first installed in the entrance courtyard of the Madrid Regional Library and Archives building, the former El Águila brewery. The architects completed the central area of the project with this bench, which has enhanced this meeting point for users of the various institutions that share the complex.
