Ten of the best views from benches around the World

Research published by Sheffield University’s Department of Landscape and the London think-tank 'The Young Foundation’, found that the provision of public benches allows for people to spend longer outside, which is beneficial for both mingling with others in the community, combatting loneliness and isolation as well as benefiting mental health. We’ve taken a look at ten of the best bench locations across the World, where you can sit and watch the World go by.

Bormio, Italy

Located at 8,271 ft above sea-level, near the summit of Monte dell Scale near the municipality of Valdidentro, Lombardy, in the Italian alps. The view overlooks Lake Cancano, a glacial lake which was created in the 1950s as part of a hydroelectric scheme.

British Columbia, Canada

Utah, United States

At 8,100ft this really is a bench with a view. Taken at Inspiration Point in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, the view appears to go on forever. Light appears to catch the hoodoos, spires and continually-eroding canyon walls, whilst Bristlecone pine dot the landscape as far as the eye can see.
