Fabricated in corten, the ring measured 1.8 metres in diameter. To keep both the cost and weight within realistic limits, we used steel just 2mm thick, although the finish and 150mm x 150mm profile made it look much more massive and substantial. The finished ring was mounted on a 12mm mild steel plate, which was then bolted to a concrete pad on site.
